See How Talanton’s Exciting New Investment Is Helping Small Enterprises

“All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.”

Proverbs 14:23

Thanks to our supporters, Talanton has invested in a 10th high-impact, high-growth business!

After conducting extensive due diligence and getting to know the leadership team, we have invested in Pezesha, a company with a unique financing platform serving many thousands of East African businesses in the smaller end of the SME spectrum.

Pezesha connects these businesses to working capital through a collaborative approach where banks and other financial institutions can connect on Pezesha’s platform to be matched with quality businesses. Pezesha has distributed over 100,000 loans to the 6,000 businesses it currently serves. Talanton’s investment will enable these figures to grow rapidly, thereby supporting and bringing Hope to more and more people through jobs.

Watch this brief 2:13 video to learn how it works.

Through their embedded finance infrastructure, Pezesha enables these businesses access to affordable credit and other financial services. A business can increase its credit score and credit limit by utilizing Pezesha for multiple transactions, and by accessing digital financial education and tools.

Pezesha currently has 20 employees at its headquarters in Kenya. It conducts business in Kenya, Uganda and Ghana. The business plans to increase to 100 employees within the next two years as it continues to expand into additional countries including Nigeria and Rwanda. The job metric; however, is most relevant and impactful when measured in terms of the many thousands of jobs supported through increased business because of these loans. Business owners can add employees plus suppliers, with a significant impact on thousands of families and their communities.
