Help 300 Kenyan students and their teachers now

Creating jobs to lift people out of poverty, bring hope and transform lives

“Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to”  Deuteronomy 15: 10

The pandemic took away their education.

Left to right: Prisca, teachers and students, empty desks waiting to be filled, Educor students in happier days

Prisca listened … but it was quiet.  Sadly quiet.  She longed for the joyful sounds of children coming to school in the morning.

When Prisca Muyodi founded Educor in 2010, she fulfilled a dream to provide quality education grounded in Christian values to children in Kenya.  And since education is often the only way out of poverty, Educor could help build thriving communities.  The first school filled quickly, as did the next, ultimately leading to five schools, 60+ teachers/staff and over 300 students from pre-K to sixth grade.

Then COVID-19 struck and the government mandated that all schools close within one day.  And because most families in Kenya don’t have internet technology nor, as Prisca says, the “gadgets” required to access it, education came to a halt.  Prisca and her team created physical learning packs and delivered them to the parents and students as a stopgap measure, but this isn’t sustainable – and missed the key ingredient of student-teacher interaction.  They need online instruction, access to super low-cost internet and those “gadgets” to let students connect to their teachers.

With Educor being a Talanton investment business, we commit to provide financial, spiritual and other support to these Christ-centered schools.  And we need your help.

The urgent need during this COVID-19 crisis.

Educor needs a one-time financial gift to facilitate online learning during the pandemic, and as an ongoing alternative solution.  These funds will be used to:

  • Educate the children via online instruction and engagement with qualified teachers.  This includes low-cost internet access, required gadgets and remote learning instruction to both parents and students.

  • Pay the children’s teachers as there is no type of payroll protection plan available in Kenya to provide financial assistance during this time.

  • Continue online teaching capabilities after the pandemic to reach more children and offer education at a lower cost.

How you can help these students, teachers and parents now.

Please join us on this mission to support Prisca and Educor.  Donate now to make a difference in 300 children’s lives and keep their teachers employed.  Our goal is to raise $50,000 to meet Educor’s needs plus provide support to other faith-driven businesses in crisis in East Africa during this COVID-19 pandemic.

100% of your donation will go to Educor and these businesses.

We hope that you and your families remain safe and healthy.  Please let us know how we can pray for you during this difficult time

God’s Blessings,

David and The Talanton Team

P.S. We believe it is our biblical responsibility to step up and share our God given resources to help educate these young students during the pandemic and give them hope for a brighter future.  Talanton’s Partners have made the first $10,000 donation and invite you to join us.

Prisca Muyodi has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, an MBA in Business Administration/Management and after a successful career in Human Resources, is the Founder and CEO of Educor.
